The University of Utah Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship has an opening for one position starting in July 2025, with additional applications being accepted for a July 2026 start date. Our one-year program offers COCATS level III training in cardiac MRI and CT, fostering strong clinical, translational, and basic research collaborations between cardiology and radiology. Fellows will work closely with both cardiologists and radiologists, as well as PhD MRI physicists, in a high-volume tertiary referral center equipped with state-of-the-art MRI and CT technology. Our facility serves a diverse patient population with various cardiac disorders.
Fellows participate in didactic lectures covering a wide range of topics, including MRI physics. One-on-one mentorship during the interpretation of MRI and CT cases is a key component of the program, providing substantial hands-on learning opportunities. Our goal is to support fellows in achieving their career aspirations while encouraging them to become leaders in the field of advanced imaging. Beyond their training, fellows can enjoy a wealth of outdoor activities in the surrounding area, including hiking, biking, and fishing, with world-class ski resorts <30 minutes away.
We accept 1-2 candidates each year. Qualified applicants will have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in cardiovascular disease and hold a valid U.S. medical license.
Interested candidates should submit their CV, a brief personal statement outlining career objectives, and three letters of recommendation (one from the program director). Graduates from US cardiology fellowships or US radiology residencies are eligible to apply. We are unable to accept candidates on J1 visas for this position.
